Don Nelson has publicly announced that he will randomly bench his star players to give his younger players more playing time. This is a common method in the NBA known as "tanking" to get a higher draft pick. However, usually coaches do not announce that they are doing it. This is why Nelson is receiving so much flack for his decision after this article was published.
My thoughts on the situation are that I think we should just stay in the 8-10 lottery pick range and draft Brandon Jennings. We need a true PG, and he's as true as they come.
As for the team, this also has a little to do with us trying to influence Craw to opt out. He really doesn't fit on our team and he has a player option for 9 mill next season.
